Emmerdale's Charity Dingle charged with murder

In the British soap opera Emmerdale, Charity Dingle has been officially charged with the murder of Dr Todd. The charges follow a failed attempt to frame the death as an act of self-defence.

The incident began when Sarah Sugden shoved Dr Todd after overhearing the doctor rape Charity. The shove caused Dr Todd to hit her head on a table, resulting in instant death. To protect her granddaughter, Charity attempted to cover up the incident by staging a struggle and working with Serena Sugden to craft a false narrative.

However, new evidence has caused Charity’s self-defence plea to collapse. Following an investigation by DS Ramsden, Charity has been placed on remand. As the legal situation worsens, a guilt-stricken Sarah is struggling to cope with the consequences of the event, while Charity has reached out to Cain for help using a symbolic St. Christopher necklace.
