Zendaya earns third Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in Drama

Zendaya has been nominated for a third Emmy Award in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series category for her performance as Rue Bennett in the final season of Euphoria. The nomination places her in contention for a historic third win; she previously won the award in 2020 and 2022, becoming the youngest recipient and the first Black woman to win twice. A third victory would make her the youngest and first Black actress to capture the prize three times.

The 78th Emmy Awards will be held on 14 September 2026 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. Other nominees in the category are Carrie Coon (The Gilded Age), Chase Infiniti (The Testaments), Keri Russell (The Diplomat) and Rhea Seehorn (Pluribus). Outside the ceremony, Zendaya’s year includes a recent marriage, promotion for the film The Odyssey, and upcoming releases of Spider‑Man: Brand New Day and Dune: Part Three.
