Emmy Awards announce new presenters including Matthew McConaughey

The Television Academy and NBC have announced a new group of presenters for the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards. The latest lineup includes Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson, Jamie Lee Curtis, Sofía Vergara, John Mulaney, and Shailene Woodley. Other confirmed presenters are Stephen Amell, Awkwafina, Noah Beck, Jessica Belkin, Scott Caan, Emma D’Arcy, Julia Garner, LL Cool J, Hassie Harrison, Paul Anthony Kelly, Thaddeus LaGrone, Brooks Nader, and Emmy Rossum.

Several of the new presenters, including Amell, Beck, Belkin, Harrison, and Nader, are part of the upcoming Fox reboot of ‘Baywatch’. Additionally, McConaughey and Harrelson are expected to appear together following their reunion in the Apple TV comedy ‘Brothers’.

The ceremony, hosted by Mariska Hargitay, will also feature a musical performance by Noah Kahan during the ‘In Memoriam’ segment. Special anniversary celebrations are planned for ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ (30th anniversary) and ‘Charlie’s Angels’ (50th anniversary).

Leading the nominations heading into the event are HBO Max’s ‘The Pitt’ with 25 nods and ‘Hacks’ with 24. Other notable nominees include Apple TV+’s ‘Widow’s Bay’ and ‘Pluribus’, Netflix’s ‘Beef’, and Amazon Prime Video’s ‘Spider-Noir’. The awards will be broadcast live on NBC and Peacock.
