Emmy Rossum discusses challenging role in new thriller series “Furious”

The eight‑episode miniseries “Furious” premiered on Disney+ on 27 July, with the first three episodes released together and the remaining episodes airing weekly on Mondays through 31 August. The show follows FBI Agent Alice Black, portrayed by Emmy Rossum, as she hunts a serial killer while confronting her own emotional limits.

Rossum said she deliberately seeks roles that frighten her, describing the character as inhabiting “moral gray zones.” She explained that playing Alice Black, who suppresses her feelings to stay effective, forces her to explore complex human behavior and to grow as an actress. The series has been compared to “True Detective” and “The Silence of the Lambs,” and is available on Disney+ (bundled with Hulu) in multiple regions.
