Empaer-MT conducts training to regularize family agro-industries

Empaer-MT, the Mato Grosso Research, Assistance, and Rural Extension Company, has conducted seven technical training sessions aimed at the regularization of family-run agro-industries. The initiative, led by the Department of Value Chain Development (Decav), seeks to help family farmers meet the requirements for processing and commercializing plant-based products to access new markets and increase income.

The training sessions involved over 300 professionals, including extensionists and representatives from municipal sanitary surveillance agencies. The meetings took place across several cities, including Cuiabá, Sinop, and Tangará da Serra. Technical participation included the State Sanitary Surveillance, the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa), and the Association of Mato Grosso Municipalities (AMM).

The program addresses common challenges faced by small-scale producers, such as identifying responsible regulatory bodies, gathering necessary documentation, and meeting sanitary requirements for specific products like coffee, fruit pulp, cassava, cocoa, and nuts. While Empaer-MT provides guidance and support throughout the process, the agency clarified that it does not issue sanitary licenses or registrations; those responsibilities remain with the competent regulatory authorities.
