Empalme implements 450 million peso infrastructure investment

The municipality of Empalme, Sonora, is undergoing significant infrastructure development through a joint investment of approximately 450 million pesos. Supported by Governor Alfonso Durazo Montañoy and President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, the funding targets tourism, security, education, housing, and social welfare.

Key projects include the first stage of the Malecón del Cochórit, designed to boost regional tourism and economic activity. Additionally, over 231 million pesos have been allocated to rehabilitating streets, public lighting, parks, and sports areas. Specific roadworks include the paving of 20 sections of streets such as Primero de Mayo, La Tercera, and La Catorce.

As part of the Transforma Sonora program, local authorities are also focusing on the rehabilitation of Avenida Héroe de Nacozari. Current works involve deep pothole repair between Ignacio Ramírez and Bertha streets in the Moderna neighborhood to prepare for asphalt application, addressing long-standing citizen demands for improved mobility and safety.
