Empik reaches 400 physical stores in Poland
Empik has reached a milestone by opening its 400th physical store in Konstancin-Jeziorna, Poland. Despite digital sales accounting for over half of the group's GMV, the company is aggressively expanding its brick-and-mortar presence to support an omnichannel strategy.
The company aims to reach 500 locations by maintaining a pace of approximately 30 new openings per year. The expansion strategy focuses on flexible formats, including smaller stores in retail parks, shopping streets, and towns with populations under 10,000 residents.
Empik's physical locations increasingly serve as integrated hubs for the customer journey, acting as points for product inspection, order pickups, and returns for online purchases. Approximately two-thirds of orders from Empik.com are collected at physical stores.
