Empire of the Sun performs high-production synth-pop sets on latest tour

Empire of the Sun is performing high-production synth-pop sets as part of their ‘Ask That God: Afterlife Tour’. Recent performances include a sold-out show at Forest Hills Stadium and a set at Merriweather Post Pavilion.

At Forest Hills Stadium, the performance featured elaborate costumes, large screens, and synchronized lighting. The setlist included newer tracks such as ‘Desire’, ‘Changes’, and ‘Cherry Blossom’, alongside established hits like ‘We Are the People’, ‘Walking on a Dream’, and ‘Alive’.

The Merriweather Post Pavilion show featured opening acts Midnight Generation and Polo & Pan. The production utilized massive screens with CGI-driven imagery blending mythology and futuristic technology. Lead singer Luke Steele appeared in a red kimono-style robe, maintaining the band's reputation for visually ambitious live shows.
