Employment and educational opportunities in Italy's banking sector
The Bank of Italy has announced seven scholarship opportunities for 2026 aimed at master's degree graduates seeking to pursue advanced studies abroad. These scholarships, named after Bonaldo Stringher, Giorgio Mortara, and Donato Menichella, cover three research areas: political economy, financial economics (including machine learning, FinTech, and cybersecurity), and the relationship between economic growth and legal frameworks, including AI and digital assets.
Applicants must hold a master's degree from an Italian university with a maximum grade of 110/110 and proficiency in one or more foreign languages. The application deadline is November 20, 2026. This program is intended for academic specialization and is not a direct recruitment process for employment at the Bank of Italy.
Separately, UniCredit is recruiting graduates and diploma holders across Italy for various professional roles. Opportunities include the Core Banking Programme for retail branches, which offers a three-month internship followed by a potential 36-month apprenticeship, and the UniCredit Direct program for remote digital and telephone consultancy. Positions are available in multiple cities, including Milan, Rome, Turin, and Naples.
