Empoli City Council approves local addiction and parental leave measures

The Empoli City Council met on October 13, 2026, to vote on several local administrative matters. The council adopted a new municipal acoustic classification plan with support from the Democratic Party, Mayor Alessio Mantellassi, and AVS, while M5S, Fratelli d'Italia, and Buongiorno Empoli abstained.

Additionally, the council unanimously approved a motion to introduce and implement tools to combat substance abuse and gambling addiction within the Empoli territory. A third motion regarding the promotion of equal parental leave was also passed, receiving votes in favor from the Democratic Party, Mayor Alessio Mantellassi, AVS, Buongiorno Empoli, and M5S, with Centrodestra per Empoli abstaining and Fratelli d'Italia and Empoli del Fare voting against.
