Empresas Polar launches program to create 1,000 companies in Venezuela
Empresas Polar has launched the ‘1,000 Empresas’ (1,000 Companies) program, an initiative aimed at creating one thousand new, sustainable, and scalable businesses in Venezuela over the next 15 years. The program seeks to foster a formal entrepreneurial ecosystem that generates quality employment and contributes to national development.
The initiative consists of three main pillars: massive online business training starting in October, access to non-reimbursable capital, and personalized advisory services for selected projects. The training component is free, self-managed, and consists of nine modules designed by industry leaders.
Lorenzo Mendoza, Executive President of Empresas Polar, stated that Venezuela has entered a new stage where the private sector must play a fundamental role following the failure of the statist model. He noted that while opportunities exist, significant obstacles remain, particularly the lack of adequate financing and capital flow. Mendoza emphasized the need to transition from simple self-employment to organic, formal entrepreneurship that can grow sustainably.
