Empress Royalty acquires US$62M gold stream in Côte d'Ivoire

Empress Royalty Corp. has announced the acquisition of a gold stream on the Tongon Gold Mine in Côte d'Ivoire. The deal, executed through its wholly-owned subsidiary Empress Royalty Holding Corp., involves an upfront cash payment of US$62 million to Appian Tongon Streamco Ltd.

To finance the acquisition and support future growth, Empress Holdings entered into a US$75 million senior secured credit facility with Appian Empire Loanco Ltd. The facility includes an initial draw of US$55 million to partially fund the Tongon acquisition, with an additional US$20 million available for subsequent royalty and stream purchases.

CEO and President Alexandra Woodyer Sherron described the acquisition as a landmark addition that marks the company’s entry into West Africa. Following the disclosure of these financial arrangements, the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) halted trading of Empress common shares on September 17, 2026, with trading scheduled to resume on September 18, 2026.
