Emraan Hashmi wraps shoot of Bollywood sequel Awarapan 2

Actor Emraan Hashmi and producer Vishesh Bhatt announced that filming of the much‑anticipated sequel Awarapan 2 has been completed. The movie, directed by Nitin Kakkar and written by Bilal Siddiqui, will feature Hashmi reprising his iconic role of Shivam and marks Disha Patani’s first collaboration with Vishesh Films. Production took place in Rajasthan and parts of South‑East Asia. Awarapan 2 is scheduled for worldwide theatrical release on 14 August 2026, with music by composer Amaal Mallik.

The announcement highlighted the film’s larger‑scale settings and promised “layered storytelling” and “rich music,” aiming to build on the cult status of the 2007 original, which gained a dedicated fan base through television reruns and online platforms.
