Emraan Hashmi denies playing Mehmood in R. D. Burman biopic

Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi has denied recent reports claiming he will portray the legendary comedian and actor Mehmood in an upcoming biopic of music composer R. D. Burman. Addressing the speculation on social media, Hashmi stated, “Just to clarify, the reports about me playing Mehmood saab in a biopic are untrue. I haven’t been approached for the film, nor am I doing it.”

The rumored project, which is reportedly being produced by Excel Entertainment, was also linked to Akshay Kumar, who was said to be playing Rajesh Khanna. While Hashmi has dismissed his involvement, the biopic remains a highly anticipated project in the Indian film industry.

Hashmi is currently focused on the release of ‘Awarapan 2’, a sequel to his 2007 cult hit, which stars Disha Patani and Shabana Azmi.
