Emraan Hashmi returns as Shivam in Awarapan 2 teaser, slated for Aug 2026 release

The makers of Awarapan 2 unveiled the first teaser on June 29, marking the 19th anniversary of the cult‑iconic 2007 film. Emraan Hashmi reprises his role as Shivam Pandit, delivering a voice‑over that opens with the line, “Is Baar Yeh Awarapaan Khatam Hoga, Yaa Main.” The teaser emphasizes a darker, introspective tone and features a re‑imagined version of the original’s hit song “Toh Phir Aao 2.0.”

Alongside Hashmi, the sequel’s cast includes Disha Patani, Shabana Azmi, Surendar Vicky, Vijayant Kohli and Atul Kumar. Produced by Vishesh Bhatt, the film is written by Bilal Siddiqui, directed by Nitin Kakkar and scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on August 14, 2026.

The original Awarapan, directed by Mohit Suri, gradually achieved cult status despite modest box‑office returns, and its soundtrack remains popular. The new teaser seeks to honor that legacy while positioning the sequel as an emotional continuation rather than a mere nostalgia act.
