Emre Yılmaz builds Mercedes-Benz museum collection in Samsun
Emre Yılmaz, a 35-year-old businessman from Samsun, has transformed a childhood passion for toy cars into a private museum featuring 17 rare and classic Mercedes-Benz vehicles. The collection, housed in a converted garage at his place of business, focuses on limited-edition and rare models.
Yılmaz began his collecting journey 12 years ago by restoring a 1977 Mercedes 280 S. His current exhibition includes notable models such as a 1992 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster, a 1963 Mercedes-Benz W111 220 S Heckflosse, and a 1974 Mercedes-Benz 450 SLC previously owned by Turkish actress Filiz Akın. Other featured vehicles include a 1989 Mercedes-Benz 124 Coupé and a 1982 Mercedes-Benz 280 Coupé.
The collector often restores the vehicles himself and manages the collection by rotating pieces when new acquisitions are made. Yılmaz has reportedly declined offers to sell certain vehicles from prominent Turkish figures to maintain the integrity of his museum.
