EMSA worker critically injured in Misiones power line collapse

A 46‑year‑old employee of the state utility Energía de Misiones (EMSA) suffered multiple severe injuries after a carbonised wooden pole collapsed on the roadside of Provincial Route 4 near Bonpland, Argentina. The worker was thrown to the ground and sustained poly‑trauma, a lung contusion, several fractures (including the right wrist, left clavicle and a complex mastoid fracture) and deep contusions on his torso and thighs. He was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of Hospital SAMIC in Leandro N. Alem with a guarded prognosis.

Hospital authorities confirmed the injuries and reported that the employee’s blood‑alcohol test was negative. Emergency crews and EMSA technical staff remain on standby to restore the damaged electric infrastructure while monitoring the patient’s condition.
