Emsdetten conducts survey on Borghorster Straße traffic safety

The city of Emsdetten has launched an online survey to address ongoing traffic concerns on Borghorster Straße, specifically the section between Amtmann-Schipper-Straße and Westring. The area faces challenges including narrow sidewalks, parked vehicles obstructing cyclists and pedestrians, and difficulties for wheelchairs and cargo bikes.

There is a political proposal to designate the multi-purpose lane as an absolute no-parking zone to improve safety. The survey has received over 1,000 responses from residents and commuters. Results are expected to be presented to the Committee for Climate, Environment, and Mobility on September 15, 2026, with a public information event scheduled for September 22, 2026.
