EMT València approves record 266.6 million euro budget for 2027
EMT València has approved a record global budget of 266.6 million euros for 2027, representing an 18% increase from the previous year. This financial plan includes an ordinary budget of 199.1 million euros and 67.5 million euros allocated to the 2024-2028 Investment Plan for renewing vehicles and modernizing infrastructure.
Despite the budget increase, the company has committed to freezing all ticket prices and fares for 2027. The expansion is supported by increased municipal funding, with the Valencia City Council's contribution rising from 93.9 million euros in 2026 to 100 million euros in 2027. Additionally, the City Council will provide 15 million euros of its own capital to help meet the 2027 investment plan requirements.
To improve service, the company plans to hire up to 160 additional drivers and deploy 218 of the 222 new buses planned under the investment scheme. These measures aim to increase service frequency and capacity. The company anticipates serving approximately 130 million passengers in 2027, up from an estimated 125 million at the end of 2026.
