Enami launches fuel efficiency pilot at El Salado Plant
Enami has initiated an eight-month industrial validation pilot at its El Salado Plant in the Atacama Region to optimize fuel consumption and reduce CO2 emissions. The project utilizes technology developed by ZIZCAR to monitor mining machinery in real time.
The pilot involves installing sensors and an analytics platform on 12 pieces of equipment, specifically seven trucks and five loaders. The initiative, supported by GreenMineTech and executed by Ciptemin and Optimiza, aims to establish a consumption baseline and verify data accuracy against physical measurements.
Key performance targets for the validation include maintaining data availability above 90% and ensuring a maximum deviation of ±5% from reference measurements. Additionally, the project seeks to identify opportunities to reduce fuel consumption by at least 10% across 70% of the monitored equipment.
