Enap and Freeport-McMoRan report significant production updates
Enap has reported record-breaking fuel production levels in recent months. In September 2026, the company produced 1,115,867 m³, marking the second-highest monthly production in its history, following July 2025. This follows a strong August 2026, which was the company’s best August on record with 1,033,629 m³ produced. General Manager Julio Friedmann attributed these milestones to a sustained strategy focused on operational excellence, facility reliability, and process optimization.
Meanwhile, Freeport-McMoRan reported third-quarter 2026 copper production of approximately 830 million pounds, meeting market expectations. However, the company faced margin pressure due to rising costs and lost byproduct credits. In the United States, weather events including floods, power outages, and strong winds impacted operational rates in Arizona. In Indonesia, while gold production reached 230,000 troy ounces, a scheduling shift at the PT Freeport Indonesia refinery deferred approximately 60,000 ounces of refined gold to the fourth quarter. Despite these challenges, progress at the Grasberg mine indicates a path toward full recovery for the major deposit.
