ENAV hosts A6 Alliance meeting in Rome to discuss European airspace
ENAV hosted the A6 Alliance Steering Board at its Area Control Center in Rome to discuss the transformation of European airspace. The alliance consists of major Air Navigation Service Providers that manage over 80% of continental air traffic and represent more than 70% of investments in future European Air Traffic Management infrastructure.
Participants focused on priorities including cooperation, technological innovation, skill sharing, and securing adequate European Union funding to modernize the sector. The goal is to create a more secure, resilient, and efficient European aviation network.
Regarding operational performance, Eurocontrol data indicates that European service provider-related delays decreased by 17% in the summer of 2026 compared to 2025, despite a 2.4% increase in traffic. ENAV reported high efficiency during the same period, maintaining zero average delay minutes per assisted flight despite a 7% increase in Italian airspace traffic.
