Enbridge Inc. attracts significant institutional investment

Enbridge Inc., a Canadian midstream company operating over 70,000 miles of pipelines in North America, continues to attract significant institutional interest. Thomasville National Bank recently established a new position in the company, purchasing 880,638 shares valued at approximately $47.7 million during the second quarter. This holding now represents 2.6% of the bank's investment portfolio.

Other major institutional investors have also adjusted their stakes. Vanguard Group Inc. increased its holdings by 2.1% in the fourth quarter, while Norges Bank purchased a new position worth approximately $1.19 billion. Additionally, Geode Capital Management LLC, Legal & General Group Plc, and Mackenzie Financial Corp all reported increases in their Enbridge holdings during the fourth quarter. Institutional investors collectively own 54.6% of the company's stock.

Enbridge maintains a history of dividend growth, having raised its dividend annually for 31 consecutive years. The company's business model, which relies on charging tolls for resource transport, provides stability against fluctuating oil and gas prices. For 2026, the company expects distributable cash flow per share to reach between $5.70 and $6.10 CAD, covering its forward dividend rate of $3.88 CAD.
