Enbridge launches open season for West Texas Express Pipeline

Enbridge has launched a non-binding open season for its proposed West Texas Express Pipeline project, seeking commitments for the new natural gas infrastructure. The project aims to transport supply from the Permian Basin's Waha area to markets near El Paso, with potential extensions to the U.S.-Mexico border.

The proposed pipeline would consist of over 150 miles of pipe with a diameter of up to 42 inches, providing an initial capacity of up to 2 billion cubic feet per day. The development is intended to meet rising demand from industrial customers, utilities, data centers, and power plants in West Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and Mexico. If commercial support and necessary approvals are secured, the company targets an in-service date in the fourth quarter of 2029.
