Encarnación gold purchase ambush leaves two dead

Two men were murdered during a violent ambush in Encarnación, Paraguay, while attempting to finalize a gold purchase. The victims traveled from Juan E. O’Leary in the Alto Paraná department with a significant sum of money intended for the transaction.

The attack took place at the Parque Recreativo Nacional En el Paraíso in the Santa María neighborhood. According to investigators, the victims were intercepted, bound with zip ties and packing tape, and executed. One victim sustained eight gunshot wounds, while another was shot in the mouth.

A third man, Francisco Javier Cano González, survived the attack after receiving a gunshot wound to the neck. He managed to escape and seek assistance from passersby. Following the incident, authorities arrested a Spanish national and his son in connection with the crime.
