Encavis launches first large-scale battery storage project in Italy
Encavis has announced its first large-scale battery storage project in Italy, located in Ceprano within the Lazio region. The standalone facility is expected to have an installed capacity of approximately 65 MW and a storage capacity of around 260 MWh.
The project, which is scheduled for commissioning in 2028, was acquired from ReFeel New Energy, an Italian developer supported by ReFeel Group and Gresham House Europe. This move is part of Encavis’ strategy to transition into an integrated platform that combines renewable power generation with battery storage and market-based optimization.
Encavis currently operates a photovoltaic portfolio in Italy with an installed capacity of about 420 MW. The company stated that the new storage project will provide essential flexibility to its existing solar portfolio and assist in integrating renewable energy into the Italian power grid to support stability.
