Encuentro con el Patriarca continues traditional equestrian march in Uruguay

The 32nd edition of the Encuentro con el Patriarca is currently underway in Uruguay, continuing its traditional equestrian march toward the Meseta de Artigas. The event features various 'aparcerías' (groups of gauchos) traveling through the countryside to celebrate local customs.

During the second day of the event, participants traveled from Constancia to Quebracho. Despite intense heat, the march proceeded without incident, with participants gathering around traditional bonfires to share meals and reinforce cultural ties. The route continues toward Chapicuy, leading up to the central ceremony scheduled for Sunday.

To support the participants, the Intendencia de Salto has provided veterinary assistance. A specialized team, including Dr. Valeria Beltramelli, has been monitoring the health of the horses during the trek and remains available at the Meseta de Artigas to address any medical issues caused by the journey or the heat.
