End of Abyss releases debut progressive metal album

Finnish progressive metal band End of Abyss has released its debut concept album, ‘Escape to a New Empire’. The project is the culmination of a long-term vision by composer and producer Petrus Syvänperä, with roots tracing back to before the band's first demo in 2010.

The album features a cinematic blend of progressive metal and symphonic arrangements. Set in a medieval-inspired fantasy dreamworld, the narrative follows a protagonist fighting enemies through dreams while exploring themes of escapism, power, and societal structures. Musically, the work draws influence from artists such as Kamelot, Ayreon, Symphony X, Stam1na, and Queen.
