Enda Bonner, former Donegal Senator and Councillor, dies at 76

Former Senator and Donegal County Councillor Enda Bonner has passed away at the age of 76. Bonner, a member of Fianna Fáil, served in the Seanad from 1997 to 2002 and was a member of the Donegal County Council from 1999 until 2019, serving as Chairman of the council during 2006–2007.

Donegal TD Pat the Cope Gallagher paid tribute to Bonner, describing him as a “formidable and hardworking representative” who was deeply committed to his community, his professional life, and sports. Bonner was also an accomplished footballer who served on the County Board and as Chairperson of CLG an Chlochán Liath.

Funeral arrangements include a Requiem Mass at St Crona’s Church in Dungloe on Tuesday, September 1, followed by burial in Dungloe Cemetery.
