Endeavour Mining outlines ESG strategy and economic impact in Africa

Endeavour Mining has unveiled its 2026–2030 Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy, focusing on community development and local economic integration in its operational regions.

In Burkina Faso, the mining group aims to train over 1,250 young people in various trades and support 5,000 beneficiaries through microfinance initiatives by 2030. The company also intends to source 80% of its purchases from registered suppliers within its host countries, with 35% specifically from nationally owned businesses.

In Senegal, the company’s Sabodala-Massawa gold complex has served as a significant economic driver. According to an impact report covering 2021–2025, Endeavour Mining contributed 1.5 trillion CFA francs to the Senegalese economy, representing approximately 1.7% of the national GDP for that period. This total includes 324 billion CFA francs paid directly to the state in taxes, royalties, and other contributions.
