Ender Yılmaz announces candidacy for Istanbul Chamber of Industry chairmanship

Ender Yılmaz, the Assembly President of the Istanbul Chamber of Industry (İSO), has officially announced his candidacy for the position of Chairman of the Board. The election for the Board and its Chairman is scheduled to take place on November 3.

Yılmaz stated that his decision was shaped by direct observations on factory floors and discussions with industrialists facing challenges in maintaining export markets. His vision focuses on transforming the İSO into a proactive center of intelligence that shapes industrial policy and acts as a strong advocate for its members. Key priorities include increasing the global competitiveness of Turkish industry and supporting members in expanding into new markets.

Additionally, Yılmaz emphasized the need to mend the disconnect between the İSO and the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), noting that the İSO should have a more decisive role on the TOBB Board of Directors. The election process will proceed with voter lists being submitted to the District Election Board on October 2, followed by the election of professional committees and assembly members on October 26.
