Endesa modernizes electrical grids in Puigcerdà and Castell-Platja d’Aro

Endesa has completed several infrastructure projects to modernize and reinforce the electrical grids in Puigcerdà and Castell-Platja d’Aro in Spain.

In Puigcerdà, works focused on the underground medium voltage line on Carrer Major. The project involved replacing existing cabling with higher-section infrastructure to increase energy transport capacity and reliability. Additionally, a planned reform of a transformation center at a local school will involve replacing current cabins with advanced technology to meet current and future energy demands.

In Castell-Platja d’Aro, a 140,000 euro investment has improved the service for over 7,200 clients. The project included the installation of approximately 450 meters of new underground medium voltage lines through Carrer Lleida, Carrer de Miramar, and Avinguda de s’Agaró. This new structure creates an electrical circuit with alternative routes, allowing power to be rerouted during faults and facilitating maintenance without service interruptions. The upgrades also redistribute transformation centers to better manage electrical loads during peak summer and winter demand.
