EndoAir project launches specialized endometriosis care in Brazil
The EndoAir project, founded by gynecologist and researcher Igor Chiminacio, has begun its national expansion in Brazil to provide specialized endometriosis treatment to various regions.
On October 1st, the initiative conducted its first procedure in a private hospital in Rio de Janeiro. The patient, a 41-year-old resident of Teresópolis, had experienced pain for approximately three decades, much of which was previously misdiagnosed as orthopedic issues. The diagnosis eventually revealed endometriosis with pelvic nerve involvement.
To facilitate access to specialized care and reduce travel for patients, the project utilizes an aircraft to transport Chiminacio and a multidisciplinary medical team to different cities. During the Rio de Janeiro procedure, the team employed neuropelveology techniques to address the endometriosis and the affected nerve structures.
