Endometriosis awareness and support initiatives in Germany

Endometriosis affects approximately one in ten women of childbearing age, often causing severe pain and infertility. Because symptoms can include digestive or urinary issues, patients may initially consult general practitioners who might not immediately recognize the condition. Specialized gynecologists in certified endometriosis centers are recommended for diagnosis, which can be confirmed via laparoscopy.

To support those affected, the Gesundheitsregionplus offices in the Miesbach and Rosenheim districts are hosting an action day on November 21 in Miesbach. The event, titled ‘Quality of Life with Endometriosis: Information, Support, and Exchange for Those Affected’, aims to provide orientation and medical insights. Experts in medicine, physiotherapy, psychotherapy, and nutrition will present information based on current medical guidelines to help improve the quality of life for patients and their families.
