EndoValue project calls for improved chronic hypoparathyroidism care in Spain

The EndoValue project, a multidisciplinary initiative in Spain, has released findings highlighting the need for improved management of chronic hypoparathyroidism. Affecting approximately 13,000 people in Spain, this rare endocrine disease presents significant unmet medical needs.

Key recommendations from the report include the early identification of patients with inadequate disease control and the optimization of follow-up protocols to prevent complications. Experts emphasize the critical importance of monitoring renal function to detect early signs of deterioration that could lead to chronic kidney disease.

To improve patient quality of life and reduce regional disparities in care, the project calls for better coordination between various healthcare sectors, including endocrinology, primary care, hospital pharmacy, and nursing. The findings are expected to be presented at upcoming congresses organized by the SEDISA Foundation and the Spanish Society of Hospital Pharmacy (SEFH).
