Endra to build Norway's first agri‑PV solar farm for Rema 1000

Endra, owned by Haugaland Kraft, will construct a 10.8 MW solar power plant on 146 ha in Sveio, Vestland, Norway. The facility will house 16,600 photovoltaic modules and is expected to generate about 10 GWh annually – enough electricity for roughly 650 households.

All electricity will be sold to supermarket chain Rema 1000 under a long‑term power purchase agreement at a fixed price, providing revenue certainty. The project integrates agriculture, allowing sheep to graze between panels and maintaining cattle, pigs and a wildlife corridor, which the farm owner Maria Nesse says “the sheep grazing between the panels means a lot for us”. Endra's CEO Kristian Gautesen described the scheme as “the future of solar development: dual land use, local value creation and long‑term industrial partnerships”. The plant is planned for a 40‑year operational life.
