Endre Kónya under investigation for witness tampering

Endre Kónya, a former deputy director of the Bicske children's home, is facing an official investigation regarding allegations of witness tampering. The investigation was launched by the Budapest Police Headquarters following a report by RTL after Kónya allegedly attempted to persuade a victim of the child protection system to alter their testimony.

During police questioning, Kónya denied any wrongdoing, claiming his intentions were to help the youth by discussing a drug prevention program. He stated that he wanted to review the details of the previous testimony to support his own claim that he did not commit a crime during his time as deputy director. Reports indicate that during a meeting with the youth and their mother, Kónya provided them with money, cigarettes, and groceries before requesting that the individual record videos changing their previous statements.
