Endrick vows to improve after Brazil’s World Cup exit

Brazil were knocked out of the 2026 World Cup in the round of 16, losing 2‑1 to Norway. Young striker Endrick, who entered the match in the second half, missed a clear one‑on‑one chance against goalkeeper Orjan Nyland and later said he left the stadium “deeply frustrated”. In an Instagram post he thanked God, his family and fans, and pledged to work hard over the next four years to return stronger.

The miss sparked criticism from former Brazil star Romário and sparked debate among supporters. Endrick also spoke about his role at club level, returning to Real Madrid for pre‑season under José Mourinho. He will have to compete for a place in a forward line that includes Vinícius Júnior, while the club has recently sold left‑back Fran García to Betis. The Brazilian’s future at Madrid remains under review as he seeks to adapt to Mourinho’s tactics.

Endrick’s comments underline the disappointment of a nation that expected a deeper tournament run and hint at a rebuilding phase for the Seleção ahead of the next World Cup cycle.
