Endurance runners complete long-distance charity challenges

In the United Kingdom, Matthew O’Connor and Joe Hughes completed a 412-mile charity run across Britain in nine days. The challenge, which averaged nearly 50 miles per day, supported The Azaylia Foundation, a charity assisting families facing childhood cancer. The runners visited four major children’s hospitals—Royal Manchester, Great Ormond Street, Oxford, and Birmingham—to deliver ‘Jessie’s JoyJars’ containing toys and activities for young patients. The journey concluded at West Midlands Safari Park during the foundation’s fifth-anniversary celebration.

Separately, Lee Harker is undertaking a 4,500-kilometre ‘Running 4 Paws’ challenge across Europe. Running from Denmark to southern Spain over approximately 126 days, Harker aims to raise funds and awareness for PAWS Xaló, a dog rescue organization. The initiative specifically seeks to support older rescue dogs and those with additional needs by helping to create a dedicated home for them.
