European Commission offers free rail travel via DiscoverEU

The European Commission is distributing nearly 41,000 free rail tickets through the DiscoverEU program, aimed at young people born in 2008 who reside in EU member states or countries associated with Erasmus+. The application deadline is Thursday, October 15, at noon Brussels time.

Successful applicants will receive tickets allowing for up to seven days of travel within a single month between March 1, 2027, and May 31, 2028. Participants can travel individually or in groups of up to five. In addition to travel, winners receive a discount card for accommodation, cultural events, and local transport. For candidates in Poland, a pool of nearly 3,200 tickets has been reserved.

To apply, candidates must use the European Youth Portal, provide identity documentation, and complete a quiz regarding European Union initiatives. The program aims to promote cultural diversity and connectivity among European youth.
