ENEA updates Ecobonus guidelines and technical requirements
ENEA has released updated technical guides, or vademecum, regarding the Ecobonus energy efficiency incentives in Italy. These updates, effective as of September 2026, align with the European RED III directive and the implementation of Legislative Decree 5/2026.
The new guidelines provide a unified framework for thirteen types of interventions, including global requalification, windows and fixtures, heat pumps, and hybrid systems. For expenses incurred in 2025 and 2026, tax deductions are set at 50% for primary residences and 36% for other cases. In 2027, these rates are scheduled to decrease to 36% and 30%, respectively.
Significant changes include the cessation of incentives for transitioning from gas boilers to biomass, wood, or pellet systems. Additionally, the updated documentation portal now includes automated digital blocks to prevent the submission of applications that do not meet the new technical performance standards and mandatory efficiency requirements.
