Enedis invests €300,000 to bury power lines in Écouves

Enedis has invested approximately €300,000 to bury 2.2 km of high-voltage power lines in Écouves, Orne. The project aims to secure the electricity supply for 950 households that have been frequently affected by outages during severe weather events, such as storms Ciaran and Caetano.

The work, carried out by subcontractor Sogétra over three months, involved replacing 1.7 km of vulnerable aerial lines with underground cables buried at a depth of 85 cm. This modernization is part of the ‘Post-Ciaran Resilience’ plan, through which Enedis intends to invest €120 million in Normandy by 2030 to reinforce an additional 600 km of the electrical network.
