Greenvolt to sell Polish battery projects for €391.5 million

Greenvolt Group, through its subsidiary Greenvolt Power, has agreed to sell two utility-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS) in Poland to Malta-based A&R Investments. The transaction is valued at up to €391.5 million, consisting of a €311.5 million fixed payment and a potential additional €80 million contingent on the projects receiving authorization to provide grid balancing services.

The two projects, located in Ełk and Turośń Kościelna in north-eastern Poland, each possess a power capacity of 200 MW and an energy storage capacity of 800 MWh. Both assets were completed in the third quarter of 2026 and have secured 17-year capacity market contracts in Poland starting in 2028. Additionally, the projects are covered by a 10-year tolling agreement to optimize battery use and trade flexibility in power markets.

The sale aligns with Greenvolt’s asset rotation strategy, which involves developing projects, realizing value through sales, and reinvesting capital into new developments. The deal is expected to close by the end of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions.
