Enefit invests 324 million euros in Lithuanian wind farms

Enefit has officially opened two wind farms, Kelmė I and Kelmė II, in the Kelmė region of Lithuania. The company invested approximately 324 million euros into these projects, which will add 167 MW of renewable energy production capacity to the Baltic power grid.

In Estonia, a survey conducted by Emor for the State Chancellery reveals mixed public sentiment regarding wind energy development. While 48% of respondents agree that developing wind energy in Estonia is important and necessary, support varies significantly by region. Support is highest in Tallinn and Harju County, where over 50% of respondents agree with the statement. Conversely, in areas like Pärnu County, more people disagree than agree.

The survey highlights a potential disconnect between general support for renewable energy and local opposition to specific wind farm locations, particularly in rural areas such as Valga and Väike-Maarja, where opposition is notably high.
