Čeřínek festival returns to original Jihlava venue for its 18th edition

The multi‑genre family‑oriented Čeřínek festival will be held on Saturday 25 July in Horní Hutě, back at the Tourist Hut Čeřínek where it began 18 years ago. Organizer Miloš Jurač, also the new leaseholder of the hut, said the event is reverting to a one‑day format after two years of a two‑day schedule due to rising production costs – stage rental and artist fees have increased roughly twenty‑fold, making ticket‑price hikes untenable. The lineup includes David Koller, Marpo, UDG, Cocotte Minute and others, with a children’s zone offering workshops, a mini‑excavator and a paint‑wall.

Meanwhile, the historic town of Jindřichohradec will host a weekend of celebrations from 17–22 July centered on the legend of Jakub Krčín. Events feature evening concerts, a lantern procession, medieval music, sword‑play, folk dancing, a market, and an art‑making happening at the nearby castle park. A separate organ festival will present concerts in churches on the Czech‑Austrian border, and a folk festival will showcase regional songs and costumes throughout the town.
