Enel Rio launches energy efficiency initiatives in Rio de Janeiro municipalities

Enel Rio is conducting a series of sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives in the municipalities of Itaboraí, Saquarema, and São Gonçalo between Monday (21) and Thursday (24).

In Itaboraí, the company is hosting the ‘Nave Enel’, a mobile educational platform built inside a bus that features interactive games and presentations regarding efficient energy use. The attraction is located in the Esperança neighborhood.

In Saquarema and São Gonçalo, the ‘Enel Compartilha Consumo Consciente’ project provides guidance on reducing waste and saving electricity. As part of this initiative, residents can exchange up to five incandescent or fluorescent bulbs for LED models. The company notes that LED technology can consume up to 80% less energy and last ten times longer. To participate in the exchange, residents must present a photo ID, their most recent paid energy bill, and the old bulbs.
