Enel X and Threefold Energy partner for UK battery optimization

Enel X and Threefold Energy Group have entered a five-year partnership to optimize commercial battery storage in the United Kingdom. The agreement aims to maximize the value of on-site batteries by providing market access and optimization through Enel X’s VPP Connect platform.

The initial phase focuses on approximately 3.5MW of behind-the-meter capacity, which is expected to be online within 12 months. The long-term goal is to scale participation across Threefold’s fleet to exceed 100MW. This virtual integration allows commercial sites to participate in grid services to help manage network pressure without requiring additional hardware or disrupting daily business operations.
