TASKK elects Şener Aydın as president amid membership disputes

The 20th Ordinary General Assembly of the Turkish Amateur Sports Clubs Confederation (TASKK) concluded in Ankara with Şener Aydın re-elected as president. Aydın secured his victory with 481 votes, defeating challenger Yaşar Zımba, the President of Sakarya ASKF.

The assembly was marked by significant tension regarding the membership status of the Ankara Amateur Sports Clubs Federation (Ankara ASKF), which had been expelled from the confederation approximately three years ago. A proposal signed by general assembly delegates to reinstate Ankara ASKF's membership was rejected by a majority vote.

The debate over membership led to heated arguments and rising tension within the hall. To prevent the situation from escalating into a larger crisis, the assembly chairman, Mehmet Baykan, called for security personnel to assist in maintaining order and ensuring the meeting could proceed healthily.
