Energía de Misiones to refactor bills for 342 families in Posadas
Energía de Misiones has committed to re-issuing electricity bills for 342 families in the Itaembé Guazú neighborhood of Posadas, specifically within sector 10 of the former Hipódromo. The company acknowledged that instead of the standard 30-day billing cycle, these residents were charged for a 42-day period spanning from June 15 to July 8.
This extended billing period caused some residents to receive amounts that doubled their previous monthly costs. The company attributed the error to weather conditions and holidays that disrupted the meter reading process.
Following a meeting with the Posadas Ombudsman's Office and community representatives, the company agreed to rectify the situation by refactoring the accounts based on a standard 30-day period. For residents who have already paid the inflated bills, the excess amount will be applied as a credit toward their next billing cycle rather than being issued as a cash refund.
