Energie Cottbus pursues defensive and offensive reinforcements

Energie Cottbus is making several moves to strengthen its squad. The club has announced the loan signing of 19-year-old striker Dmytro Bogdanov from Union Berlin. Bogdanov, who was trained at Dynamo Kyiv and Dynamo Dresden, joins the team to provide offensive depth following a serious injury to striker Erik Engelhardt.

Additionally, the club is integrating defender Marcel Beifus, who was previously without a club and is expected to undergo rehabilitation in Cottbus.

On the defensive front, the club is reportedly seeking veteran leadership to stabilize its backline after a 0-3 loss to Bielefeld. Toni Leistner, a 35-year-old former Hertha BSC captain currently without a club, has emerged as a potential candidate. Leistner's desire to remain in the Berlin-Brandenburg region makes a move to Cottbus a plausible option for the experienced defender.
